The 57th annual Comal County Junior Livestock Show kicked off with rabbit and goat shows on Monday, Feb. 24.

Students of local Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H racked up prizes for their standout bunnies and billies.

Tristen Zamora was the Grand Champion of the rabbit show, while Peyton Layne Stratemann was the Reserve Grand Champion. Emmit Martinez won Best of Show, as well as the Maureen Dunkel “Best of Show” Trophy, and Ava Pinkham took home Reserve Best of Show.

The Senior Showmanship Award went to Jacob Manztel, while Stratemann won the Intermediate Showmanship Award and Reagan Ayers won the Junior Showmanship.

In the goat show, Haley Mabe was the Grand Champion and Haley Eichman was the Reserve Grand Champion.

Mabe and Eichman also won a number of other awards as well. Mabe took home the Heavyweight Division Champion, as well as the Heavyweight Reserve Division Champion. Eichman was the Lightweight Division Champion and won the Senior Showmanship Award, as well as the Reggie Wuest Memorial trophy.

Brooklyn Howell was the Lightweight Reserve Division Champion, Sara Fernandez was the Medium Weight Division Champion and Audrey Koepp was the Medium Weight Reserve Division Champion.

Kinsley Hell won the Junior Showmanship Award and Parker Pelata won the Reserve Junior Showmanship Award. Caylea Lassiter won the Intermediate Showmanship Award, as well as the Alvin and Clara Saur Memorial Trophy, and Audrey Koepp won the Reserve Intermediate Showmanship Award. The Reserve Senior Showmanship Award went to Makayla Miller.

The 2025 Comal County Junior Livestock Auction will take place all day at the Comal County Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 1.
